From remembered space to physical space

The project proposes a translation of sensory memory into physical space, exploring how memory—fragmentary, subjective, and embodied—can acquire material form through installation. The starting point is love as a foundational experience, understood not as an abstract emotion, but as a bodily and perceptual imprint that leaves a structure in memory. It is a sculptural installation composed of clouds made of paper, cotton, and string, accompanied by suspended paper birds. These fragile and organic materials evoke primal refuges—nests, cradles, cavities—associated with the first loving environment. The space activates the synesthetic dimension of memory through sound and smell: a lullaby passed down from generation to generation (sung now by me as I sang it to my children) and the aroma of violet candies. The resulting atmosphere invites the visitor to reconnect with an early state of calm and protection. The work transforms memory into physical presence: a place that is not thought about, but inhabited. An immersive environment where the body recognizes that which precedes words: the sensation of initial love.
